Random Weekendness

by Jeff Z. on Jul.28, 2008, under Uncategorized

I think the biggest news in the South Bay of Los Angles is that Ryan Fudger and his girlfriend Rachel, and their new roommate, Ben Ward (who was previously claiming Anaslime) moved to Long Beach. That brings the tally of riders in Long Beach to two more people closer to awesomely huge scene. We celebrated with a session in neighboring San Pedro with a bunch of people (read Fudger’s blog to learn more about that). XGames is coming up, are you excited! Personally, I can’t wait to get sunburn and hassled by security guards wanting to see my credentials every three minutes. Maybe I’ll see you there.

SLC to LBC

by Jeff Z. on Jul.14, 2008, under Uncategorized

I’m heading back home tomorrow, and as usual, I had a kick-ass time in Utah. I met a lot of new people, including two guys from Australia, Rich from Vegas, Mike (the BMX racing Gonz), Tate Roskelley, and Ben Williams. We spent a good part of the day sessioning an amazing bank-to-rail that I went to on a Sanfu trip like five years ago. I think the most amazing thing about this spot is that it’s running five years later and was still a zero bust. While we were there we had a front row seat to the Rob Wise show and it was worth every penny. Even though his spine is basically dislocated from his tailbone, Rob’s been killing it for his interview and he finally wrapped it up today with an outrageous banger.

That’s It! -Z

Rob Wise was lucky his five inch shiner didn’t bleed much because his fresh DCs would’ve been tainted.

Tomorrow is sneaking up on me pretty fast.

by Jeff Z. on Jul.13, 2008, under Uncategorized

Today turned out to be a pretty sweet day. Rob Wise accomplished quite a ridiculous feat yesterday and thus, he’s feeling a few of the bad attempts today. So while Rob took the day for a little R&R, I went on a mission with a little crew through some picturesque landscapes. It was way better than the dry-ass deserts of Cali, AZ, and on the way to Vegas. The spot were I shot with Tate Roskelley was a perfect example of why I love shooting in Utah so much. He did a damn good Evil Knievel impression today, but I’m really not at liberty to say anything else about it at this time. As a matter of fact, I’m pretty much out of liberties for this eve of the morning.

Numero Uno

by Jeff Z. on Jul.12, 2008, under Uncategorized

As I type this I’m in a subarb somewhere near Salt Lake City, Utah, it’s 3:50am, and I’m listening to “2HB” by Roxy Music. Who says shooting photos and keeping up to speed on all things BMX isn’t a fulltime job? I’m up here working on an interview with Rob Wise. Needless to say, he did some crazy shit today… Rob Wise is so in control that it’s actually out of control?does that make any sense? It does at 4am. Um… what else? Elf and his lady have an amazing backyard garden and I know Tate Roskelly’s real first name.

Good Night-Z.
